Drug Class: NSAID (Non-Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drug) | Form: Oral Tablet | Prescription Status: Prescription Only (Rx) — DRAP Registered

What is Acenac 100mg Tablet? Acenac 100mg contains Aceclofenac — an NSAID that relieves pain and reduces swelling by blocking the chemicals responsible for inflammation. It is prescribed for joint and musculoskeletal conditions where ongoing pain and stiffness significantly affect daily life. Aceclofenac is generally considered to have a better stomach tolerability profile compared to some older NSAIDs, though stomach protection is still recommended. Always take under medical supervision at the lowest effective dose for the shortest time necessary.

What is Acenac 100mg Used For?

  • Rheumatoid arthritis — painful swelling of joints (ریمیٹائیڈ گٹھیا)
  • Osteoarthritis — joint wear and pain, especially knees and hips (جوڑوں کا درد)
  • Ankylosing spondylitis — inflammatory back and spine stiffness (ریڑھ کی ہڈی کا درد)
  • Acute musculoskeletal pain — muscle and joint injuries (پٹھوں اور جوڑوں کا درد)
  • Dental pain with inflammatory component (دانت کا درد)

How Does it Work? Aceclofenac inhibits COX-1 and COX-2 enzymes, blocking prostaglandin production at the site of inflammation. Reduced prostaglandins mean less pain receptor sensitisation, less swelling, and lower fever. It also partially converts to Diclofenac in the body, contributing additional anti-inflammatory activity.
