What is Nezkil Syrup 100mg/5ml?

Nezkil Syrup 100mg/5ml is a prescription antibiotic suspension containing Linezolid 100mg per 5ml, used to treat serious bacterial infections (بیکٹیریل انفیکشن) in adults and children caused by gram-positive bacteria, including drug-resistant strains. Linezolid belongs to the oxazolidinone class of antibiotics and is particularly effective against infections that do not respond to standard antibiotics, including MRSA (Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus). The syrup formulation makes it suitable for children and patients who cannot take tablets. It should only be used for confirmed or strongly suspected bacterial infections under close medical supervision.

What is Nezkil Syrup Used For?

Respiratory Tract Infections: Treats pneumonia including hospital-acquired and community-acquired pneumonia caused by susceptible gram-positive bacteria. Skin and Soft Tissue Infections: Treats complicated skin infections including those caused by MRSA that do not respond to standard antibiotics. Bloodstream Infections: Manages septicaemia caused by specific gram-positive bacteria. Bone and Joint Infections: Treats osteomyelitis and joint infections caused by susceptible organisms. Urinary Tract Infections: Used for UTIs caused by gram-positive bacteria when other antibiotics are not suitable.

How Does Nezkil Syrup Work?

Linezolid inhibits bacterial protein synthesis by binding to the 23S ribosomal RNA of the 50S ribosomal subunit, blocking an early step in the bacterial protein-making process. This mechanism is unique to the oxazolidinone class, meaning Linezolid can work against bacteria that have developed resistance to other antibiotic classes including MRSA and vancomycin-resistant strains. By stopping bacteria from producing the proteins they need to survive and multiply, Linezolid brings the infection under control.
