Cyprodio Tablets 2mg are a prescription medicine for women that contain two hormones working together: Cyproterone Acetate (2mg) and Ethinylestradiol (35mcg). Cyproterone Acetate blocks the effects of male hormones (androgens) in the body, which are responsible for acne, oily skin, and unwanted hair growth. Ethinylestradiol is a synthetic estrogen that supports this action and helps regulate the monthly menstrual cycle. Together, these two ingredients also work as an oral contraceptive (preventing pregnancy). A prescription from a doctor is required before use.
What is Cyprodio Used For?
Cyprodio is prescribed for women of reproductive age when other treatments have not worked. It is used for the following conditions:
- Severe Acne (شدید مہاسے): Acne that has not improved with antibiotic treatments or other medicines
- Hirsutism (چہرے اور جسم پر زیادہ بال): Excessive, thick, or dark hair growth on the face or body caused by high androgen levels
- PCOS-Related Skin Problems: Severe oily skin and acne linked to Polycystic Ovary Syndrome

How Does Cyprodio Work?
Cyproterone Acetate reduces the effect of male hormones that cause oily skin, acne, and unwanted hair. With less androgen activity, the skin becomes less oily, acne gradually clears, and hair growth slows over time. Ethinylestradiol balances hormone levels and regulates the menstrual cycle. Results for acne and hair growth usually take 3 to 6 months of regular use.
Important Warnings
Cyprodio is not suitable for every woman. Do not use if you are pregnant, have a history of blood clots, liver problems, or unexplained vaginal bleeding. Smoking while using this medicine increases the risk of serious side effects. Common side effects may include nausea, breast tenderness, headache, and mood changes.
